Super Short Wedding Update!

Well, this is not exactly a ministry update, but we thought you might be interested in a few pictures from our big days!

You read that right- dayS!! See, in Guatemala, folks celebrate their civil paper signing and their religious wedding. It was hard for me to wrap my brain around the idea of celebrating signing papers, but with the help of an army, we had a lovely day.

In our case, it was the opportunity to include all the kids in the group home who cannot travel across the mountains to my new home, where the religious ceremony was held.

Although it was quite hard not to have them here, walking, rolling, or running down the aisle ahead of me, it was wonderful to have a lunch with them after signing papers. And we were deeply supported by friends making a simple lunch into something to remember.

With a week between, we enjoyed time with my family, his family, and a special thanksgiving.

Then on to the main event, the religious ceremony!

We were blessed to share this via livestream, ⁦https://www.facebook.com/share/1D954sCbdP/⁩ and were blessed by the presence of friends in Canada, across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and so many other places. Friends shared photos of their presence!

Many things are so different as we blended two cultures. This presented many challenges, and many beautiful moments unique to us.

In it all, we feel deeply loved, powerfully supported, and blessed by God.

So, after a brief time away to one of Guatemala’s stunning natural landmarks, we are back and working to make the house into our home. It’s wonderful to work together side by side, and we are excited to see how God uses us together.

Thank you for your prayer, support, and encouragement.
